Connor Christian & Southern Gothic Release New Album

Connor Christian & Southern Gothic To Release New Album in 2013. I first heard of Connor Christian & Southern Gothic over the summer, and I immediately fell in love with their rootsy sound! With five members, Christian, on piano, guitar, and vocals, Jeff Spirko playing guitar, guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano and singing vocals, Elena Martin on fiddle, piano, mandolin and background vocals, Joe Abramson on bass and Shawn Thacker taking care of drums and percussions, this group’s music is a multi-instrumental effort! Since they have such well rounded talent, they’re music has a complex, full bodied quality that makes each listen a new experience. You can hear it below for yourself! Happily, this stellar group will be releasing a brand new album, New Hometown, in 2013. Featuring 18 new tracks, Connor is responsible for co-writing 16 of the songs, and Spirko contributed his writing skills as well! “It was written over a few short months. But it nevertheless attempts to chronicle a lifetime’s worth of stories. Good times & bad, love & loss – I wrote these songs with a little help from some of my best friends from the road to try and begin to tell my story.” -Connor Christian New Hometown will debut on February 12th, and in the meantime, you can catch them on the road with Corey Smith Be sure to take a listen below, and stay tuned for more news on CC&SG! Brent Cobb Love On Me Video

Brent Cobb Premiers His Fireside Sessions With “Love On Me.” I first heard Brent Cobb about a year ago, by complete accident. I listened to more of his music and shortly after got myself an interview and saw a live show. I have been a fan ever since. Him putting out these Firside Sessions, proves to me even more that I am a fan of what he does. “These first Fireside Sessions are something I wanted to do that felt like home to me,” said Brent to Country Music Is Love. “Pickin’ around a fire is something we all do a lot of back home in Georgia. ‘Love On Me’ is a fun song for it. I’m pretty sure I used that line ‘fall in love on me’ on my wife. It worked.” “Love On Me,” Cobb’s current single, is the first of many videos for this ongoing series. The song was co-written by Cobb and Jason Saenz and the video was directed by Reid Long. Pick up Cobb’s EP now and to find more info on him visit BrentCobb.net. The Voice Season 3 Winner

Team Blake Wins The Voice For The Second Year In A Row. Blake Shelton is sure to be one happy camper/hung-over mentor this morning as both the top 2 finalists of The Voice were from his team. Terry McDermott took second place and Cassadee Pope was the winner for season 3! We are all very happy for Mr. Shelton, being part of the country music family and all, but also have some love for Ms. Pope. She won many over this season with her ballads and rocker songs, but especially perked up the ears of some country fans with certain song selections. Shelton said numerous times that Pope could perform country songs so well, because she was able to connect with the lyrics. Well connect she did, nailing “Over You,” “Stand,” “Stupid Boy” and “Cry.” Congratulations to her and the rest of the team members and coaches! The Voice Season 3 Winner Sing “Cry“!

Listen: Ashley Monroe New Song Use

Listen to Ashley Monroe’s New Song “Use” From Upcoming Album. To the delight of country music fans, Ashley Monroe (of the Pistol Annies) recently announced that she will be releasing a new solo album, Like A Rose, in 2013. Notably, the new album is co-produced by Vince Gill and Justin Niebank and all the tracks were co-written by Ashley! Now, the date has changed since we last talked about it, and it will now be debuting on March 5th via Warner Nashville. Luckily though, Monroe is more than willing to keep giving little tastes of what is to come. The most recent sample from the album is her single, “Use“, that is beautifully mournful and heartbreakingly relatable. If this tune is any indication of what to expect from the rest of the record…well, let’s just say I can’t wait! Hear it for yourself below! Listen: Ashley Monroe’s “Use”.
