The second time I ever heard The Band Perry‘s current single, “Better Dig Two” was live at the 2012 CMA Awards, and I have to tell you, it gave me chills. Sure, this song has very similar themes as previous releases like “The Way You Lie” and “If I Die Young“, but it hardly matters because Kimberly Perry really knows how to deliver. Vocally and musically, this is a very powerful song, and this sibling trio isn’t holding back. The video has already garnered over a million views on YouTube alone. Join the crowd and enjoy it below! LeAnn Rimes‘ current single, “Borrowed“, the second from her highly anticipated upcoming album, Spitfire, is an emotional and raw song. Considering the very public history she has with her current husband, Eddie Cibrian, and the theme of the song (borrowing someone who isn’t yours…), it’s a little difficult not to assume that this single is coming from a very personal place. Regardless of the back story though, this really is a very powerful song, and Rimes pours every bit of her talented into it. Natalie Maines Solo Album Mother Releases May 7th

Natalie Maines To Release New Solo Album, Mother, May 7th! Natalie Maines will be releasing brand new music this year in the form of her new solo album, Mother! The new record promises to have a rock vibe, inspired in part by iconic British rock group Pink Floyd and will release on May 7th. The new record was produced by Ben Harper whom Natalie performed with live more than once earlier this year. Maines’ cover of the Pink Floyd song, “Mother“, will be available via iTunes as early as January 15th as it is featured on the soundtrack for new documentary, West of Memphis, chronicling the harrowing story of the West Memphis three. Now, just because Maines is releasing a solo project doesn’t mean the Dixie Chicks are gone for good or at all. Tim McGraw Debuts New Video for Current Single One Of Those Nights. I am really digging Tim McGraw‘s current single “One Of Those Nights“! The country singer just debuted his new video for the song this week, and it’s pretty cool. The concept behind it basically focuses on giving fans a kind of behind the scenes look at, well, the making of a video. I’m personally a big fan of the whole look what goes on behind the curtain thing, so I’m into the new vid. Connor Christian & Southern Gothic To Release New Album in 2013. I first heard of Connor Christian & Southern Gothic over the summer, and I immediately fell in love with their rootsy sound! With five members, Christian, on piano, guitar, and vocals, Jeff Spirko playing guitar, guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano and singing vocals, Elena Martin on fiddle, piano, mandolin and background vocals, Joe Abramson on bass and Shawn Thacker taking care of drums and percussions, this group’s music is a multi-instrumental effort! Since they have such well rounded talent, they’re music has a complex, full bodied quality that makes each listen a new experience. You can hear it below for yourself! Happily, this stellar group will be releasing a brand new album, New Hometown, in 2013. Featuring 18 new tracks, Connor is responsible for co-writing 16 of the songs, and Spirko contributed his writing skills as well! “It was written over a few short months. Keith Urban and Taylor Swift Guest On Tim McGraw’s New Album, Two Lanes of Freedom. Tim McGraw has two very special guests on his upcoming album, and that would be country favorites, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift! If everyone wasn’t already excited about hearing new tunes from McGraw, especially after all that Curb Records broo-ha-ha, this collab is sure to get you on board. The new album, Two Lanes of Freedom, is set to release February 5th, 2013, and Urban and Swift are featured on track 13, “Highway Don’t Care” written by Mark Irwin, Josh Kear, Brett Warren and Brad Warren. Listen to Ashley Monroe’s New Song “Use” From Upcoming Album. To the delight of country music fans, Ashley Monroe (of the Pistol Annies) recently announced that she will be releasing a new solo album, Like A Rose, in 2013. Notably, the new album is co-produced by Vince Gill and Justin Niebank and all the tracks were co-written by Ashley! Now, the date has changed since we last talked about it, and it will now be debuting on March 5th via Warner Nashville. Luckily though, Monroe is more than willing to keep giving little tastes of what is to come. The most recent sample from the album is her single, “Use“, that is beautifully mournful and heartbreakingly relatable. RaeLynn Premiers Boyfriend On The Voice

RaeLynn Premiers Her New Single, “Boyfriend,” On The Voice. Last night we found out that another contestant wouldn’t be making it to the finals. Trevin Hunte was eliminated, leaving the top 3 of season 3. Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott remain for Blake Shelton‘s team and Nicholas David for CeeLo Green’s team. A contestant from last season, a Shelton team member, also made an appearance last night. RaeLynn premiered her new single, “Boyfriend.” Although she didn’t win, or make the top finals, RaeLynn does have a record deal with Republic Nashville. You can find her single on iTunes and should get to hear a full length album in 2013. There has been much debate on whether the young girl is “country” or not.
