Tate Stevens Is The X-Factor Winner, Embarks On $5 Million Contract! First of all, congrats are in order for Tate Stevens, the very, very talented X-Factor contestant that just walked away with a $5 million contract after winning the season! When we first heard Tate sing, we knew he was going to go far, and we are so excited for he and his family! It was a long two hour finale, but at the end of Stevens thanked God, his family and country music fans. He then performed a great rendition of Chris Young’s “Tomorrow“! Tate’s life has definitely changed tonight, and he earned it for sure!! Relive The Winning Moment!

Tim McGraw Debuts New Video for Current Single One Of Those Nights. I am really digging Tim McGraw‘s current single “One Of Those Nights“! The country singer just debuted his new video for the song this week, and it’s pretty cool. The concept behind it basically focuses on giving fans a kind of behind the scenes look at, well, the making of a video. I’m personally a big fan of the whole look what goes on behind the curtain thing, so I’m into the new vid. You be the judge though, and watch for yourself below! “One Of Those Nights” is the second single to come off McGraw’s upcoming album, Two Lanes of Freedom, due out Feb. 5, 2013. LeAnn Rimes Sings Duet with Carly Rose Sonenclar on The X-Factor. Earlier this week, LeAnn Rimes stopped by The X-Factor to perform a duet with one of the remaining three finalists, Carly Sonenclar, and as seems to always be the case these days, drama has been stirred up. Since the performance, various folks have criticized Rimes for trying to out-sing the contestant, and some even got petty enough to suggest the country singer was drunk…or at least tipsy. Personally, I didn’t think it was her best ever performance, but seriously, people, she kind of set the bar pretty high for herself. As far as out-singing Carly, even if that was the case, she held her own, so no harm done. I really think that those folks that are stirring this pot are just mixing up trouble that isn’t really there. For her part, Rimes responded, like she does, via Twitter with the following statement: Wondering what all the fuss is about? Tate Stevens Rocks A Duet of “Pontoon” with Little Big Town on The X-Factor! In what might be my favorite moment in reality TV, the very talented X-Factor contestant Tate Stevens performed one of the hottest country songs of the year, “Pontoon“, with none of other than Little Big Town! Up until now, Stevens has done very, very well with each performance on the show, but this one is different. With this performance, I think we really see for the first time, Tate’s very real potential for star power. He totally owns the stage, is singing a duet with on of country’s favorite group’s, and he is singing really, really well. Kim of LBT is right, Stevens is truly doing country music proud, and win or lose, I can’t wait to see more from him! Watch: Tate Stevens Sing “Pontoon” with Little Big Town. As someone who spends a majority of their day listening to, reading about, discussing and writing about country music, I always get a kick out of reading through the year charts. This year I am both surprised and not surprised by the artists that made it into the Top 20. There are a lot of country music up and comers, like Jana Kramer, Hunter Hayes, Kip Moore and Dustin Lynch, but also, some of our favorite well established country stars like Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert and Kenny Chesney! I have to say I’m pretty pleased about the number one spot! Not only because Josh Turner is one of my favorites singers, but also “Time Is Love” is such a great song with a great message! Well, Season 3 of The Voice has finished up, and Team Blake was victorious yet again with Cassadee Pope walking away as winner! So, maybe this season is over and done with, but we’re already gearing up for Season 4, and luckily we’ve already got an idea of what’s to come! Sadly, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera will be moving on to other career opportunities, but they’ll be replaced by two talented folks, Latina pop singer Shakira and R&B artist Usher. Brent Cobb Premiers His Fireside Sessions With “Love On Me.” I first heard Brent Cobb about a year ago, by complete accident. I listened to more of his music and shortly after got myself an interview and saw a live show. I have been a fan ever since. Him putting out these Firside Sessions, proves to me even more that I am a fan of what he does. “These first Fireside Sessions are something I wanted to do that felt like home to me,” said Brent to Country Music Is Love. “Pickin’ around a fire is something we all do a lot of back home in Georgia. ‘Love On Me’ is a fun song for it. I’m pretty sure I used that line ‘fall in love on me’ on my wife. It worked.” “Love On Me,” Cobb’s current single, is the first of many videos for this ongoing series. The Voice Season 3 Winner

Team Blake Wins The Voice For The Second Year In A Row. Blake Shelton is sure to be one happy camper/hung-over mentor this morning as both the top 2 finalists of The Voice were from his team. Terry McDermott took second place and Cassadee Pope was the winner for season 3! We are all very happy for Mr. Shelton, being part of the country music family and all, but also have some love for Ms. Pope. She won many over this season with her ballads and rocker songs, but especially perked up the ears of some country fans with certain song selections. Shelton said numerous times that Pope could perform country songs so well, because she was able to connect with the lyrics. Well connect she did, nailing “Over You,” “Stand,” “Stupid Boy” and “Cry.” Congratulations to her and the rest of the team members and coaches! The Voice Season 3 Winner Sing “Cry“!
